I wanted to make more reflective, less reactionary music than my last few releases. As I began to write I found myself drifting into an area I had not explored before. I had used strings on previous releases but never as the main event. I have let the sound do most of the hard work, arranging the instruments in my usual linier way and leaving the listener to absorb and interpret the pieces in their own way.

I'm not a song writer. I'm drawn to moods but if a song comes out of it, that’s fine.
When I started this project it became evident very early on that this material was very different to anything I had produced in the past. This ended up being one of the most freeing musical projects I have ever worked on, more honest and representative of where I am at this time in my life.
